Experienced Instructors with a good balance between sport and self defense. USA Karate in Johnson City has the great combination of skilled instructors and good facilities. I have trained in martial arts for many years and been through several schools and styles. My experience at this school has been excellent. The instructors are very skilled in the martial arts and the ability to keep students motivated and excited. As an older student I have found them very supportive and encouraging. I have been able to build my skills and fitness at my own pace. It is the most vigorous physical training I do and also my favorite.

If you want to learn "true" self-defense, this Martial Arts School is the place to learn it!. Having attended this martial arts school, I can say that it is the best school. Reason being that Curt Malyar is a "Hands On" instructor and teaches the Basics. He teaches true self-defense. Even though I have not been in attendance for several years due to being relocated, what he taught me while I was student, I have not forgotten.
