THE BEST salon in the tri-cities area! I have extra thick, curly, and unruly hair that absolutely NO stylist has been able to work with. I went it to Ornare salon and simply told the stylist I really wanted a look that was professional and made the best use of my curly hair. And she gave me a bob cut that works perfectly with my curly hair. I finally have a hair style that I love, and I have had literally hundreds of hair cuts before.

Things I like about Ornare:

1.) they are professional and they know how to cut and style young people's hair (they don't just cater to older ladies)

2.) they are very friendly

3.) they are truly "artistic" meaning they can look at your face shape and visualize (and then create) a style that matches you perfectly

4.) they do not try to push unnecessary products or services on you (ex. they didn't try to push me to have my hair colored or highlighted because I already have a nice natural color)

5.) and, finally, they give you a wonderful scalp massage before they cut your hair

Things I didn't like:

1.) it's true, they can be a little bit "snobbish" as they cater to high-income clientell (which I am not)

2.) they are pretty expensive; however, if you have ever saved up for a long time, as I have, in the hopes of FINALLY getting a great haircut only to have your hard-earned bucks washed down the drain, you will be pleasantly surprised by Ornare. You WILL get what you pay for in this case.

3.) the hair products for sale in the store are never priced so you don’t know how much something costs until they ring it up; and, when you do buy something there, it is always way-overpriced.

Overall, I would highly recommend Ornare for their professionalism and quality of service. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for, and Ornare delivers on their promise of exceptional service.

Worst Salon Ever!. I had searched for a high-end salon in this area for a long while. Someone suggested Ornare...so I thought I’d try it. This salon has by far the worst customer service as well as the most over-rated and over paid stylists/colorists of any I have ever visited. I Do Not recommend or suggest anyone go here!

Outstanding Service! Highly recommend TENELLE!!!. I began searching for a salon offering a nice atmosphere (relaxing), experienced professionals in which sold AVEDA and used AVEDA. I have received nothing but the best! My first appointment was schedule with Tenelle. Initially, she cut my hair and styled it. Let me say...WOW! I have very thick curly hair which 9 out of 10 stylists can not manage to do what I ask. When I left-I felt like I could have been a hair model for a magazine! SO, I wanted to allow her to color my hair with some highlights. I returned for a subsequent appoinment a month later and needless to say-I was blown away.

SHE IS AMAZING! She did exactly what I asked her to do and more. She really has a gift for serving her clients not only in hair but her personality is wonderful. She made me feel so comfortable and right at home. She takes her time to listen to what I want and exceeds all my expectations!

I can not recommend her enough. I will PRAISE her for as long as she is doing hair! TRUST ME-she is one of a kind! I couldn't be happier!!!

SIMPLY THE VERY BEST!. I love this salon and everything it stands for. The staff is courtesy and simply the most professional on the planet. If you need the best haircut, color or products this is a must see...Contact traycee at ornare for the best service ever!

great style and very friendly. so i dont understand why someone who doesnt like the service would go waste there time and money at a salon thats so down and makes them feel such a negative mood when they leave go to walmart maybe you will feel better about the service you get there and dont worry u wont have to wait 10-30 mins for your apt bc there wont be anyone standing in line to delay your service...lmao....but on a positive note tracy is very friendly and has a great personality so you can go see Tracy at Ornare shes amazing and very colorful!!

BEST TREATMENT BY FAR. I have been a client at Ornare for many years and have never had a bad experience. I have always been greeted warmly ( I have no idea what the other complaints are about). Terry is helpful with products if I don't have an appointment, but need make-up or hair products. Benjamin is THE BEST!!!! I just sit down and I always get a professional cut and color.

I have never posted a review of any sort, but I could not let this salon receive such negative publicity. Everywhere I go I get complimented on my hair.

Oh, and they do not wear too much make up, have you seen the women peddling make up at Belk lately????

wonderful and consistent. I have been getting haircuts at Ornare for over a year now, and my experience is consistently fabulous. My cut is always flawless, grows well, and is exactly what I ask for. I keep my hair fairly short, and my hair grows very fast and is very curly, so a cut that grows well and is low maintenance is what I need. Every time I get my hair cut, I am very pleased, as my cut always works well even when I can't straighten my hair. While a little on the pricey side, Ornare isn't nearly as expensive as some other salons, and I feel as though my cut is worth every penny. While I do not color my hair, my best friend always keeps color in her hair, and I have never seen her color be anything but perfect when done at Ornare. Customer service is always great, and the staff are very professional. I would highly recommend Ornare for a fabulous, easy to maintain cut at a fair price.

Worth the visit and cost but leave your sensitive nature at the door. Sure, they are a little smug at Ornare and yes some days you'd think they were mourning the loss of a great model or some great stylist or else they are concerned they will mar their heavily-applied makeup because they rarely smile at you as you walk in the door. Sometimes you might sit for awhile without being acknowledged and yes that can make one feel a bit uncomfortable and...well...inferior. Luckily the heavy scent of lavender and sandalwood will soon assuage your growing concern over their (what could be percieved as) indifference.

BUT...You will get a fabulous cut, color, style, whatever you WANT. Go prepared to direct your stylist as to what you would like to leave with. All you need is the basic ability to string a few words of direction together into a coherent sentence - not that hard. Ornare is worth the visit and initial stand-offishness. Their stylists are well-trained and each has a unique style. They will let you know if what you want won't look good or how to tweak your current style. Trust them - they are the professionals not you. Once you've been a few times you feel a little better but you'll never quite get over the smugness. This is my 12th visit or so over the past year. I have always chosen Aveda salons for the quality and Ornare certainly upholds the Aveda standard. That being said I think the stylists; aside from a few like Kelly and Amanda, need to be a little friendlier. Also, out of twelve appts I've only had 1 start within 10 minutes of the original scheduled time. I've waited upwards of 30 minutes before my appt started. The average wait is 10-15 minutes from the scheduled time. Do yourself a favor and don't arrive early, arrive right on the dot or you will only further frustrate yourself.

It's worth not being sensitive to their lack of friendliness. They'll warm up to you...eventually...so go ahead and schedule those first two appts and get the best hair maintainence you can get in the tri-cities.

Call for Rachel. She's truly great.. Rachel is fantastic! I have been going to her for about 6 months now and she does an amazing job. And, believe me, I'm very picky. Just ask her :)

Great experience. I am a guy who never knows how I want my hair cut. I go in and find a stylist I trust and just ask them to cut it however they think would work best. Kelly at Ornare did a better job at this than anyone else I've been to. She said that she does sculpture and other art...it really shows in her work that she is an artist. She was even able to cut it in a way that I could actually style it.

The location was attractive and clean. I got a head massage before my hair was cut (Bonus!). Definitely give them a try.
